31 Halloween Movies to Watch in October

October is my favorite month of the entire year. There are so many fun things happening during my birth month. There are plenty of holidays, festivals, and celebrations all around the world: Oktoberfest, Diwali (this year) for the Hindus, Selichot for the Jewish, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Mid-Autumn and Moon Festivals, United Nations month, and over a dozen in the Philippines. Everyone seems to be celebrating in October.

As we see more orange leaves and pumpkins, we also remember what it likes to be children again with Halloween decorations and costume parties. It's that time of the year when we allow ourselves to have as much candy. All treats, no tricks.... including awesome Halloween movies!

Every single year, I watch my favorite movies growing up that remind me of the many things I love about October. This year, I thought I would list them down so I don't forget my favorite full-feature films and movies made for TV that are about Halloween. These are all kid-friendly movies that are not scary even though they have ghosts and ghouls, witches and wizards, vampires, black cats, broomsticks, and boiling cauldrons.

I have one (1) movie recommendation for every single day of October. I will be watching the movies in this order from the 1st to the 31st. Follow along and let me know your thoughts.

1. Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007)

2. Halloweentown (1998)

3. Beetlejuice (1988)

4. The Faculty (1998)

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Of course, the Harry Potter movies are included in this list. The pivotal moments in the whole story happened on All Hallow's Day.

27. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)

28. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010) & Part 2 (2011)

Counted Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 as one, as you can't really see just one in one night. Potterheads will understand.

"Something wicked this way comes."

29. The Addam's Family (1991)

30. The Addam's Family Values (1993)

"Be afraid. Be very afraid."

Last, but definitely not the least is my favorite.

31. Hocus Pocus (1993)

"I put a spell on you."

Let me know in the comment section and I'll squeeze it in my movie schedule.

Here's to an exciting month of great movies, playing dress-up, candy corns, and pumpkin-spiced lattes. Have a happy October!
